The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being affected by Parkinson’s.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.

In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him multiple times across more info the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.

In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.

What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.

He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”

He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.

Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
